Victoria Williams is an American singer, song writer and musician from Shreveport, Louisiana. In 1986 she worked with then husband Peter Case on his debut album, following a year later with her own debut, Happy Come Home. The album had an accompanying 28 minute documentary done by D.A. Pennebaker. In the early 1990s she often appeared on stage and on record with the band Giant Sand. In 1993 she acted in Gus Van Sant’s Even Cowgirls Get The Blues. Although her debut album, Happy Come Home was released in 1987, she was largely overlooked until artists like Soul Asylum and Pearl Jam recorded her tunes for the 1993 Sweet Relief tribute/benefit CD which helped Victoria pay her medical bills in her battle against multiple sclerosis that was diagnosed that year. Between the years of1994-2000, Victoria recorded 4 albums for Mammoth/Atlantic Records, the last being “Water to Drink,” which was released in 2000. “Water to Drink” was Williams’ first solo album since 1998’s Musings of a Creek Dipper. In 2006, Williams was ranked #89 on Paste Magazine’s list of the Top 100 Living Songwriters. If voted to win, ROG will issue “Water to Drink” on vinyl for the very first time.

Ars Nova was a short lived American Progressive Rock band that performed and recorded from 1967 to 1969. The group included Wyatt Daly on guitar, keyboards and vocals, who wrote or co-wrote most of their songs and Jon Pierson on trombone and vocals. They recorded only two albums. The debut was a 1968 self-titled record for Elektra on which the personnel was Day, Pierson, Maury Baker on organ and percussion, Giovanni Papalia on lead guitar, Bill Folwell on trumpet, bass and vocals and Jonathan Raskin on bass, guitar and vocals. Paul Rothchild signed the band to Elektra and produced the self-titled release in LA with additional song writing from Greg Copeland. The band split up after a performance supporting the Doors at the Fillmore East in mid-1968m around the same time they were promoted with a profile in Life Magazine. If voted to win, ROG will reissue this in mono in the U.S. for the first time and include a bonus LP of unreleased studio tracks to be determined.

    Album Details
    • If voted in, we will create a brand new collection that will include many hard to find and unique tracks, collected from 7" and 12" singles and included together on a new full length LP with brand new artwork and potential other goodies.
    • Would be pressed on 180g multi-color vinyl at Record Industry and come in a single pocket tip-on Stoughton sleeve.

Devo really needs no introduction. They are one of the most iconic bands in rock history and have been releasing recordings for over 40 years. The band name comes from the concept of de-evolution: the idea that instead of continuing to evolve, mankind has actually begun to regress as evidenced by the dysfunction and herd mentality in American society. Originally from Akron, Ohio and formed in 1973, the classic line-up consisted of two sets of brothers – the Mothersbaugh (Mark on vocals, keyboards and guitar and Bob on guitar and vocals) and the Casales (Gerald on bass, vocals and bass synth and Bob on guitar, keyboards and backing vocals) along with drummer Alan Myers. The band achieved a #14 Billboard chart hit in 1980 with the memorable and catchy, “Whip It,” which was featured heavily in the early days of MTV and pushed the band into mainstream popularity. Devo became known for their music and elaborate stage performances combining kitsch science fiction themes, surrealist humor and satirical social commentary. Their off kilter pop songs include unusual time signatures and synths that have proven very influential on subsequent new wave, industrial and alternative rock acts. Recommendations from David Bowie and Iggy Pop helped Devo land a recording contract with Warner Bros. in 1978. If voted to win, ROG will create a brand new vinyl collection of rare B-Side tracks; many of which are making their debut on wax.
